Marta Henriques

Marta Henriques holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering (2013), a Master’s in Biochemical Engineering (2005) and a Degree in Chemical Engineering (2001) from the University of Coimbra.

She is Director of the Institute of Applied Research (i2A) of the Polytechnic of Coimbra (IPC).

She is an Adjunct Professor at the Coimbra Superior School of Agraria (IPC). She is Coordinator of the Master in Biotechnology. Supervised 15 master’s dissertations and co-supervised 2.

He is an integrated member of the Center for Research in Natural Resources, Environment and Society (CERNAS) and of the SiSus Laboratory: Sustainable Industrial Solutions (i2A).

He has published 27 scientific articles in indexed international journals. She is the author of 1 book and 19 book chapters, and is the editor of 2 books. She is the inventor of 1 International Patent, 3 Portuguese Patents and 1 Utility Model. Published 7 articles in specialized technical journals. Presented 41 poster communications, 31 oral communications and 37 invitational communications at scientific and technical conferences. Organized 4 scientific events.

It received 13 awards and honorable mentions for Research, Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the field of food technology. Coordinated 3 Scientific Research projects and participated as a researcher in 14 projects with competitive funding, where she supervised 14 research fellows.

Works in the areas of Engineering and Technology with emphasis on Food Engineering, Industrial Biotechnology and Chemical Process Engineering.
