Congress Policy​

By submitting the paper to S4agro International Congress, all authors agree to abide by all S4agro Congress paper submission, publication and presentation policies. Namely, authors confirm that the work is original, has not appeared in literature in any form in the past and will not be submitted to any other venue concurrently with S4agro submission or until it appears in S4agro International Congress Abstract proceedings (in the case of acceptance). Furthermore, upon paper acceptance, authors agree to transfer copyright on the accepted abstract/paper to S4agro International Congress, and one of the authors will register the abstract/paper and present it at the event. The S4agro International Congress has no responsibility for any intentional or accidental misuse, misinterpretation, or failure to follow above rules and conditions and holds no legal, civil or other responsibility for opinions, content or utilization of any methods/algorithms expressed in the Congress Proceedings.

Congress Registration

Entry to the congress for participants without presentation of scientific papers is free. Although, registration is required due to the limited number of attendees of workshops.

Fees for potential publication of extended papers in a special issue of peer reviewed international journals indexed to ISI/Scopus database are to be supported by authors.

Each registered speaker can submit 2 articles. Papers won’t be published without prior the registration of one of the authors.

Submission of Abstracts / Papers

Research development and innovation activities (R&D&I) constantly evolve.   

You wish to present your in-progress works?  

You are willing to discuss a promising idea with the agri-food sector community?  

You hope to present your thesis work or a creative test bench?  

 You have the possibility to bring forward your ideas, new projects or even first results related to the congress topics. During congress is you will be able to communicate, discuss with colleagues, young or senior researchers, from the academic or industrial sector.

The process is easy, until February, 1st, 2023, you only have to submit your abstract on the platform and if it is accepted by the scientific committee, you will have the opportunity to present your work (oral or poster) during the congress.

Submission steps: 

  • Access the Electronic Submission System https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=s4agroconference2023.
  • Add the authors, their email addresses and affiliations
  • Complete the title, the abstract and the keywords
  • Choose the type of presentation (oral or poster)
  • Choose the theme
  • Submit your abstract (.pdf only) following the template (Template)
  • After the congress, authors will be invited to submit the full paper to international journals supporting the congress (note: fees may apply

Policy on Multiple Submissions 

If the author is found to commit an act of plagiarism, the paper may be rejected and deleted from final publications.

  • 2023/01/06: Congress registration (early)
  • 2023/02/01: Abstract submission due date
  • 2023/02/01: Congress registration (normal) 
  • 2023/02/15: Abstract acceptance
  • 2023/02/15:  Congress registration (late)
  • 2023/03/02: S4Agro Congress begins
  • 2023/03/02: Invitations to submit papers to supporting journals

Technical Presentation Time: 20 minutes (15 to present; 5 for Q/A)

Keynote Presentation Time: 30 minutes (25 to present; 5 for Q/A)

Powerpoint/Presentation file used during session: Speaker’s responsibility to bring to session on USB (recommended to have back-up on personal laptop or email to geral@s4agro.pt prior to event).

Poster Presentations will be made on poster boards/easels ISO 216 paper size A0. Presenters should plan accordingly. Pins/tacks will be provided for the setup.
