Catarina Cunha Martins, holds a degree in Agronomic Engineering – Forestry branch by the Escola Superior Agraria de Castelo Branco holds a master’s degree in Forestry, Water and Landscape  by the Faculty of Forestry and Wood Sciences – Czech University of Life Sciences Prague.

In 2011, as a scholarship holder under the Erasmus program, she part of the team at the Forest Management Institute Brandýs nad Labem. The internship program intended to accompany the
forest inventory in the Czech Republic, where it was possible develop skills in the implementation, execution and administration of data relating to regional plans of forest development, including the forest typological system national. And acquisition of skills in information management and database in the field of forestry, fishing and hunting and in field data collection.

In 2014 she started her career as a Senior Technician at company SILVAPOR – Ambiente e Inovação, LDA headquartered in Idanha-a-Nova, where she accompanied the production, handling and installation of forest plants. She elaborated and followed up Plans of Forestry Management and performed functions of monitoring and management of teams, in forestry work and of road maintenance. She was responsible for the management of means and teams in the field in the control of wood nematode pine tree (NMP) and the implementation of protection measures phytosanitary imposed by legislation, working directly with the Instituto Conservação Natureza e Florestas (ICNF). At administrative part, she supported the reorganization of the manual and the other procedures, of the Quality Management System. He was trainer in the forestry area and in hygiene and safety in the work.

It was in 2016 that she joined the ASK ME ABOUT team TEAM, LDA, an albicastrence company where she was responsible for the elaboration and follow-up of forestry projects in the scope of PRODer and PDR2020 and preparation of PGF (Plan of Forest Management). She provided technical assistance in forestry and agriculture, monitored silvicultural operations in the ground. She was responsible for collecting rural cadastral data using GPS and cartography edition through geographic information (ARCGis and QGIS).

She was part of the SGS Portugal-Sociedade Geral de Superintendência S.A in 2019 and 2020. Where did it carry out actions of physical and remote sensing control, preparation of final reports control and follow-up of actions on the ground within the scope of aid and financial support granted by IFAP.IP, in the territory of mainland Portugal. He was in direct contact with farmers and with the DRAPC.

He joined CATAA in 2021 as a member of the CULTIVAR project with the aim of establishing direct contact with farmers and producers and provide support in carrying out tests, surveys and data collection in the field with and without recourse to Geographic Information Systems and GPS. It also performs the interpretation of results and elaboration of the respective reports and maps in QGIS and GIS.

She simultaneously joined CATAA’s R & amp; D team in Pilot food production units supporting the operation of equipment, installations and establishment of protocols. She took an active part in work on
development and production of new products on a pilot scale and optimization of manufacturing processes. She currently works in project management where he gives technical and administrative support in the preparation and implementation national and international projects.

It actively participates in research activities (R & amp; D) and promotion taking place within the scope of the CULTIVAR and
FUSILLI. Work in a team and association with staff researcher and/or senior lecturer.

She is a co-author of scientific publications.
